## Planning, cutting and rendering

| Tool | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `quick_cut_plan` | Plan a Quick Cut from many clips: the best `dur`-second moment of each, hard-cut back to back. A rough assembly, not a finished piece |
| `quick_cut_export` | Queue a Quick Cut render: the best `dur`-second moment of each clip, hard-cut together. A rough assembly, not a finished piece |
| `make_highlights` | Propose a rough cut of one processed video for you to refine |
| `make_highlights_vertical` | Plan a 9:16 short from one processed video in one call: pick the highlights, then trim and pan each to follow the subject. Returns an `ffmpeg_argv` for `render_ffmpeg`, not the video |
| `make_montage` | Plan a montage across many processed clips, chosen from each clip's own analysis |
| `make_reframe` | Plan a 16:9 to 9:16 reframe of a whole processed video, with crops that follow the subject shot by shot. Returns a plan and an `ffmpeg_argv`, not a file |
| `reframe_person` | Render a crop that follows one named person's face through a clip, in a crowd or across mixed orientations, at 9:16 or any `out_w x out_h`. Runs in the background; `job_wait(job_id)` returns the file with its coverage. If the clip has never seen that person, it refuses instead of cropping the centre |
| `reframe_vertical` | Crop 16:9 to 9:16 around `crop_center_x` (0 to 1). The result is picture only; the sound is dropped |
| `reframe_pan` | Crop to 9:16 and pan from `x_start` to `x_end` (0 to 1) to keep a moving subject in frame. The result is picture only; the sound is dropped |
| `track_subject` | Track the subject's horizontal position over time for panning. Runs in the background |
| `face_focus` | Where the face is in a clip, as a fraction of the frame, ready for CSS `object-position` |
| `extract_clip` | Cut a section of a clip to a file in a writable folder |
| `extract_word_clip` | Cut an exact span with picture and sound trimmed together, so lip sync holds in word montages |
| `set_trim` | Set a clip's in and out points in seconds without cutting the file |
| `set_cover_frame` | Set a clip's Library cover to the frame at `t` seconds |
| `assign_frame` | Correct who one detected face is, permanently |
| `frame_overrides` | List a clip's manual face corrections. Usually empty |
| `edit_clip_shots` | Fix a clip's shot descriptions |
| `heal_duplicate_shots` | Merge shot rows that cover the same time span, without re-analyzing anything |
| `edit_clip_scene` | Fix a clip's scene tags or on-screen text |
| `edit_clip_summary` | Replace a clip's AI summary with your own `text` |
| `edit_clip_transcript` | Fix a clip's transcript |
| `edit_clip_gps` | Set a clip's GPS location, as the Location tab's search does |
| `edit_clip_location` | Set a clip's place label ("City, Country") by hand, or clear it with "". It overrides the automatic one |
| `set_clip_date` | Correct a clip's capture date. A wrong camera clock or a re-encode can stamp the wrong date, which misplaces the clip in Events and the Library timeline |
| `set_clip_orientation` | Rotate a clip or still that came in the wrong way up: 90, 180 or 270 degrees clockwise, or 0 to return to the file's own orientation |
| `set_visual_kind` | Set what a piece of media is for in an edit |
| `set_source_description` | Save a description of a video's source |
| `get_source_description` | Read a video's saved source description |
| `render_transition` | Join two clips with a real camera move or 3D turn instead of a hard cut, and render it |
| `list_transitions` | Both transition libraries: ffmpeg moves between two clips (the default), and HTML moves inside a page (`engine="html"`, from `get_kit("transition kit")`) |
| `transition_motion` | What a named move does, as data: its curve, deformation and geometry. Works for page moves with `engine=html`. Renders nothing |
| `list_easings` | The easing curves every transition uses, as CSS `cubic-bezier` values or sampled tables, with their rates of change |
| `produce_reel` | Plan a produced reel from many clips, with optional narration, music and title cards. Returns a ready-to-run list of tool calls, not a file |
| `render_cut` | Render a whole film from one cut document in a single pass: shots, transitions and a mix of any number of voices. Reports the frame count measured from the finished file |
| `cut_doctor` | Check a whole film before an hour-long render. Give it the cut `render_cut` takes and get back every structural, timing and editorial problem |
| `render_sequence` | Join any number of clips with a transition between each, in one call. `plan_only=True` returns the timings and an estimate without rendering |
| `export_cut` | Export a layered cut (`cut: 2`) as a Final Cut Pro (FCPXML) or Premiere Pro (FCP7 XML / XMEML) timeline. Writes no media. Refuses a `cut: 1` document |
| `export_edit` | Turn a processed video's folder into editor files: EDL, FCPXML, marker CSV, YouTube chapters and a readable index, written to edit/ |
| `make_gif` | Convert a video to an animated GIF |

## Showing work and getting notes

| Tool | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `request_review` | Put a file in front of the person and ask them to mark it up. Use this instead of describing a render or asking them to open a file |
| `review_wait` | Wait until the person decides, or until `timeout` seconds pass (at most 55). Works like `job_wait` |
| `review_status` | What the person said: each note, where its marks sit on the frame, and any pictures or files they attached to it. Read-only |
| `review_reply` | Reply to one comment, right beside the mark they drew |
| `list_reviews` | Every review in this profile, newest first. Read-only |
| `withdraw_review` | Take back a review you asked for that has not been answered |
