| Tool | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `search_catalog` | Search everything indexed, across all folders. Free text matches clip titles, shot descriptions, summaries, transcripts, people, places ("City, Country"), filenames and scene tags such as "indoor", "beach" or "kitchen" |
| `search_transcript` | Find spoken words or phrases and get back the time windows where they occur |
| `resolve_clips` | Turn clip ids from the app's "Copy for AI" into full clip records. Call this first when a prompt includes GroundSlate clip ids |
| `clips_near` | Find clips filmed near a place, given a clip's GPS or a latitude and longitude, within `radius_miles` (default 5), nearest first |
| `get_clip_metadata` | Everything known about one video in a single call: shots, best segments, subject track, transcript, people, and where its metadata files live |
| `search_notes` | Search the notes people wrote: timeline moments, footage notes, and notes on people, events and projects. `search_catalog` does not reach these |
| `search_people` | Find a person by name or id (such as `p394`) |
| `search_events` | Find events by text, a date range, or both |
| `search_projects` | Find projects by text |
| `search_cities` | Search the offline cities list by name, as the Location tab does |
| `list_favorites` | The clips you marked as favorites, ready to pass to `make_montage`, `quick_cut_plan`, `render_sequence` or `produce_reel` |
| `set_favorite` | Mark a clip as a favorite (the heart in the Library), or clear it with `favorite=false` |
| `summarize_video` | Write a fresh factual summary of a processed video, one timestamped paragraph per `summary_window_sec` (default 10 seconds) |
| `refresh_story` | Update a clip's text and search entry after the people in it change |
| `name_untitled_clips` | Give AI titles to Library clips still named by the camera (IMG_4043, MVI_0069) |
| `name_video` | Give a processed video a title for the library |
