- Turn it on when you travel. Anything that needs a drive left at home stops with a clear reason.
- Turn it off when you are back, and searches include the offline footage again. A clip on an unplugged drive cannot open either way; the setting only changes what shows up in results.
- It applies to the whole Mac, so every client sees the same library while it is on.
