FLUX 1 [dev] T2I

FLUX.1 dev is Black Forest Labs' open weight 12 billion parameter rectified flow transformer, and it marked a clear break from the diffusion systems that came before it. It delivered faster generation, stronger prompt alignment, and more consistent composition, which made it feel like a major leap at the time. The model became popular with developers experimenting with next generation architectures, showing how transformer backbones could outperform diffusion on both speed and structure. Although FLUX.1 dev has since been overtaken by FLUX.2 successors with better fidelity and more control, it remains an important stepping stone in the shift away from diffusion dominated image generation toward modern transformer first models. It is still widely used as a base for community fine tunes and LoRAs.
