Seedream 4.0 image to image is ByteDance's edit mode built on the same unified architecture as the text to image variant. Users supply a source image plus natural language instructions to edit, restyle, or transform parts of the image, and the model preserves structural consistency in unedited regions while applying changes such as object substitution, background alteration, color palette shifts, lighting adjustment, and style transfer. It supports multiple reference images to help maintain identity or aesthetic coherence across edits, and the unified architecture keeps alignment between prompt and output tight. Seedream 4.0 I2I can output at resolutions up to 4K and is tuned for detailed rendering of text, layout, and compositional integrity, which makes it a strong fit for production design workflows.
