GroundSlate isSmarter
Your local AI watches and listens on your Mac. It transcribes with word-level timing, maps the music, and writes down faces, people, relationships, collections and places. A clip can be logged down to every 0.25 seconds.
A local model watches the film. Default 2 seconds, as fine as 0.25.

Mila Reyes×12TagPeople
A catalog of the people in your footage, with notes.
Collections
Rules that gather families, seen-together, and saved searches.
Places
GPS becomes a place name, then you can refine it.
Store Content Contextas Code and Markdown
Your AI writes the code once. Brand, transitions, looks, overlays, puppets, style kits, props and sets live in the kit store. The next video loads that same code. It does not copy it.
Brand
Titles, type, and color your AI reuses.
Transitions
Clip joins and page moves, saved once.
Looks
A grade your AI applies on the next film.
Overlays
Lower thirds, banners, and callouts that hold.
Puppets
Characters your AI can perform, not draw once.
Style kits
The look of a whole show, in one kit.
Props
Objects a scene can pick up again.
Sets
Rooms and worlds a show is staged in.

Straight answers
What does GroundSlate do that CapCut does not?
It watches and listens on your Mac. Your AI runs face detection, transcribes speech with word-level timing, maps the music, searches places, reads relationships, keeps avatars, compiles a show, captures or records a web page, automatically adds media found online, builds kits, applies looks, generates voice, music, SFX and video, runs a puppet, and renders the file, through 386 MCP tools. No credits for the local models.
How fine is the index?
Vision samples every 2 seconds by default. The app's Maximum reprocess logs every 0.5 seconds. MCP can set interval_sec as low as 0.25 seconds. That is not every frame. Speech is transcribed for the whole clip, then timed word by word. Music gets its own map: beats, energy and sections, and the lyrics.
What personal data does GroundSlate store?
AI face detection, a people catalog, notes, relationships, smart collections, transcripts, word timings, music maps, GPS and place names. All of that lives in your profile on your Mac. COEY does not receive it.
What is a kit?
A kit is code your AI writes once and GroundSlate keeps. The HTML, the JavaScript, the rig, the engine a page loads. Not a still, and not a preset you drag onto a timeline.
Brand, transitions, looks, overlays, puppets, style kits, props and sets are kits. A puppet kit is the body an avatar performs. A style kit is how a whole show is drawn. An engine kit is a library every later page can load.
They live in the kit store, one kit per thing, in a collection that says which kind. A later page points at that code. The project folder stays prose, plates, takes and the finished file. Nothing is copied back into the cut.
CapCut keeps templates and effects you apply, one project at a time. Here the next episode runs the same kit.
Do I need CapCut to finish?
No. GroundSlate renders the film on your Mac. CapCut is there if you still want that timeline, not because the cut is unfinished.
Where does my footage go?
Indexing, faces, transcription, word timing, music maps, looks and rendering stay on your Mac. CapCut Spaces and cloud AI send work to their servers. Your AI client is a separate app, so what you type there follows that app.
